How to entertain

The Prajna Vihar School was fortunate to have the Singer Betsy Rose visit the school recently. She is an American singer songwriter who sings for justice, peace and for the heart (http://www.betsyrosemusic.org/) has been visiting Bodhgaya and many of the places the Bodhgaya Development Association is supporting. Here is a wonderful snippet of her passionate sharing of her gift of singing at the Prajna Vihar School!

The video of the visit can be found here: Betsy Rose – PVS visit

Last year, in September our small group of Australian volunteers entertained the PVS students with the brief dance performance:

Thinking about the Bodhgaya community

We recently received an update from one of the founders of the PVSchool, Rick. The last few months have been somewhat eventful and here he reports on the latest happenings. As Sr Manisha is mentioned in connection with her active engagement with the PVS at the moment, it’s a good time to link her work which is supported by the BDA to this blog. Here is the brief report on her women’s empowerment project where she teaches women of very poor background to sew and supports them setting up a small service of sewing in their communities.

I’ve also been busy planning for the next Service-Learning Tour I am hoping to run again in September. My friend Debbie who also came on last year’s tour designed a beautiful brochure with photos and testimonials. Have a look and let me know if you feel like being part of this adventure:

“Our merry band of pranksters in September 2015 was very ably led by Kerstin Liebchen, equal best to any tour guide I’ve dealt with.  The kids at the PV school were joyously wonderful and the Maha Bodhi temple totally lived up to its World Heritage Listing.”
